| American Association of Interchurch Families biennial conference Laws Lodge, Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary June 27 through June 29, 2008. Please check this link & site from time to time for AAIF Conference updates. We will be meeting in the Grubbs Conference Room. All meeting facilities are housed in the same building which is air-conditioned. The facilities are lovely and we were able to get a reduced rate for sleeping rooms for our members attending the conference. The Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary is centrally located both in the country and in the city of Louisville. It is close to I-64, exit #8, and it is about a 15 minute drive from the airport. We have tried to schedule the conferences to correspond with the summer school vacations so that families can attend and so that attendees can plan their summer vacations around the AAIF Conferences. I am aware that the school years in the Northeast and in the Midwest have different start and end times. I think that all of them are out by this weekend's dates, and that none have restarted yet. I know that we personally enjoyed both the conferences and the time together as families on the trips that we took around the Omaha, New Mexico and Virginia Beach Conferences. So I heartily recommend the experience. It is a great way to see a different part of the country that you might not have thought of originally going to see. We've seen some really great places and met some really great people all on the same trip. Sometimes we drove and sometimes we flew across the country. 2008 is also the year for the International English Speaking Conference which will be held in Swanwick, UK from Friday August 22 through Monday August 25, 2008. When we were planning the date for our upcoming conference at our last AAIF Conference in 2006, we did not have the date for the international conference so we decided to stay with the momentum of our biennial conference schedule. The 2008 AAIF Conference is scheduled early enough in the summer so that those who don¢t have to worry about school schedules in August can attend both conferences. Please begin to plan now for both. If you have not yet paid your 2007-2008 AAIF dues, please send them in now. Please see the links below regarding AAIF membership |
Information about guest speakers, conference registration fees and the cost of meals will follow and will be posted on the AAIF website. |
